Vanessa and Romain travelled from France to have their destination wedding in the region of Braga in the North of Portugal, where Vanessa's family is from and in the same church where her grandparents got married at.
The venue they chose for their wedding is Quinta Lago dos Cisnes (a reference to the Swan Lake), one of the most romantic wedding venues in Portugal known for its unique decor and beautiful surroundings. And yes, there is a lake as well!
I arrived early in the morning at Vanessa's family house to photograph the preparations and get all those candid shots I always aim to capture. Vanessa and Romain's two young boys were always stopping by the room where their mother was getting ready to see what was going on and I did manage to get some cute photos of them as well.
Vanessa was a very calm and relaxed bride and she wanted to give a meaningful gift to everyone closest to her. Photographing the moments when her mother and grandmother received theirs was quite special!
The church ceremony also got emotional the moment Vanessa started walking down the aisle with her father approaching Romain, when all three of them started getting teary-eyed. It was beautiful to witness and capture this moment for them.
